  • Increase in Vehicular traffic

Increased automobile traffic will pack many of our already crowded roadways.

A major corridor to local schools will have more vehicular traffic endangering more of our children.

Gridlock traffic will occur when there is a hurricane.

Train crossings and stops on 10th St. will back up and cause standstill traffic.

Increased response times for emergency personal due to the increase of traffic.

  • Safety

A safety hazard for our children going to and from school.

A hazardous intersection at S.R. 44 and S. Myrtle will become a deadly path for our school children.

Neighborhood children playing in their yards will be at risk due to increased traffic.

  • Environmental Impact

The smell and noise from tractor-trailers will increase.

The vehicular noise pollution will increase.

Cutting down trees to make way for Lowe's and 500 plus parking spaces will cause a vast wildlife habitat to be destroyed.

The removal of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of trees to accommodate the widening and realignment of the entire length of S. Myrtle from SR 44 to 10th Ave. will destroy a natural noise and wind buffer.

The hazardous chemicals that will be stored in this warehouse could have a significant impact on water quality if a spill, fire or explosion were to occur.

Lowes uses and stores wood treated with arsenic and pesticides outdoors. When exposed to rainfall, these constituents can be flushed into storm water runoff.
